Here's a neat idea for your spider webs and those interested in decoupage. After painting your gourd, say as a pumpkin. Spray the spider web black, careful not to paint your house or whatever in the process.  While web is wet, quickly push the gourd against the web pulling the web loose from what it is attached to. Voila! Instant spider web painted on your gourd. Let dry and varnish as usual. Might practice one or two on cardboard first. Also makes a neat picture on black poster board and paint web white, frame it and hang on the wall. People think you worked hours on it!!
