Marbleizing Effects on Gourds
by Betty Hickman

Mix approx. 1 oz of acrylic paint with 1 oz of water in a shallow dish.  Add 2 drops of dishwashing soap (not a grease cutter like Dawn).    (adjust the mixture for less paint)  Take a straw and blow into the mixture until you get lots of bubbles.  Either touch your gourd to the bubbles or use the straw to pick up bubbles and place them on your basecoat. The bubbles will burst and make a marbleizing splattered effect. You can keep doing it over and over with different colors after the gourd is dried.
