EXPERIENCE:

LABORATORY TECHNICIAN: City of Wooster Water Pollution Control Plant & Water Treatment Plant. 7/82-present. Analyze wastewater using biological and chemical tests to comply with Ohio EPA/NPDES requirements. Analyze water bacteriological samples in accordance with Ohio EPA. Equipment used includes spectrophotometer, mercury analyzer, Microwave Digester, and Inductively Coupled Plasma spectrophotometer. Accomplished substantial improvement in lab's accuracy, as documented by annual DMR-QA results. Maintain and repair lab instruments. Develop test procedures.

CHEMIST: Eco-Labs, Inc., Cleveland, Ohio. 7/79-7/82. Was company representative for joint project in Ann Arbor for four months. Analyzed water and wastewater samples. Learned visible light and atomic absorption spectrophotometry. Attended gas chromatography training seminar. My attention to detail greatly increased lab's accuracy, as shown by quality control samples.

COMMUNITY SERVICE:

ADOPT-A-FAMILY: 1991-present. Assisted in start up and operation of City of Wooster Employees' program to collect and distribute food, clothes, and gifts to needy Wayne County families at Christmas.

WAYNE COUNTY PLANNING COMMISSION: 2/90-12/95. Appointed to two terms. Elected Chair in 1995. Discussed and voted upon lot splits, minor and major subdivisions, and Intergovernmental Reviews of proposed federal grants that involved Wayne County.

NEFCO LAND USE COMMITTEE: 1992-1993. Chairman. Formulated a report that was combined with other committee reports for the NEFCO counties (Medina, Portage, Stark, Summit, and Wayne) on the subject of regional planning.

WAYNE COUNTY HOUSING COUNCIL: 1992. Toured and reviewed Wayne County Housing, Inc. to assure that it met Community Reinvestment Area requirements.

CITY OF WOOSTER UNITED WAY: 1992. Assisted in running City's United Way fund-raising event, which included helping with group presentations. We were able to meet our goal, an increase over 1991, despite 1992 being a very difficult year for United Way.

Windows 2000 operating system. I performed all installations and upgrades.
