This straw marquetry pin is approximately 1 3/4 inches square. The dyed straw is mounted on a wood base. The idea for the Amish quilt pins came to me as a result of two centerpieces that I designed for the National Association of Wheat Weavers' Annual Banquet. The centerpieces each had a marquetry quilt being hung on a line by an Amish lady. When I was experimenting with the marquetry work for the quilts, the idea for these pins was born.
