Straw can be dyed and then prepared and used to do a technique called straw marquetry. This butterfly is made of flattened, dyed straw. The butterfly is mounted on a white background with a dark brown matt.

  The oak frame (with glass) measures 5 inches height x 7 inches wide.

  The frame and matt are the same as the ones used for the orange and two-toned butterflies. These individual pieces would look great by themselves or in a grouping of two or three.
