Friday February 18 -
Sprint has scheduled work to be done on our fiber optic DS3 line. This fiber line feeds our entire Millersburg POP location. The work is scheduled for early Sunday morning (Feb. 20) at 3am. Work is expected to take approx. 15 minutes to complete, although it may take longer. All customers dialed into the Millersburg POP will be disconnected when work starts. Customers at Wooster and Berlin will not be disconnected, but their connections will stall because our Internet feed terminates in Millersburg. We apologize for the inconvenience. Sprint has said they will keep the interruption as short as possible. Also, AT&T is reporting to us that work will be performed on routers in Akron that will affect our connection to the Internet. They have scheduled work for March 2nd. The window will be from midnight thru 6am. Work will take place sometime during this time frame, with actual downtime kept to an absolute minimum.

Monday November 8 -
One thing is for sure, the Internet is very dynamic... it is constantly changing. Because of this, it pays to be flexible and change your strategy as time goes on. We'd like to make a few recommendations for your consideration.

- Firefox - A new, very lightweight (and fast!) web browser. It has many advanced features such as tabbed browsing, plugins, popup blocking etc. We also feel that it less likely compromised, and therefore more secure. Visit the Firefox website to learn more and to download. Oh yeah, its free!

- Thunderbird - Thunderbird is Firefox's companion e-mail client. Full featured including spam filtering, it is a fine addition to your toolbox. You can download Thunderbird here, and of course its free. Visit our support pages or give tech support a call to configure.

- SpyBot Search and Destroy - It is very important to protect yourself from spyware as you are browsing the web. Some malicious spyware programs can actually slow down or stop your Internet connection. Download Spybot Search and Destroy now so that you can get on top of the problem before it's too late. You can download it here, and its free. We recommend using both Spybot S&D and Ad-Aware (listed below) for maximum protection.

- Ad-Aware - Another topnotch spyware removal program. Their personal edition is free for home use, and makes a great addition to Spybot Search and Destroy (listed above). You can download it here.

We strongly urge you to download the anti-spyware programs and use them regularly. A huge number of our technical support calls are due to spybots clogging our customers systems. To learn more about this problem, use your favorite search engine, and key on the word "spyware".
